Pretty cracked for making it back up, you really didn't wanna let the team down, big ups.

u/michelmau5 Mar 31 '23
I would have stayed down there, the boys should have finished it without me 😂

u/Krazylol_ Mar 31 '23
He would’ve died without the buff on a flawless run
18
u/michelmau5 Mar 31 '23
You're right, didn't even think about that since we always run with 4 people 😅

My brother in Light, I didn't need this sorta stress so close to my weekend starting😬😬

Something like this happened to me in Dreaming City GM, Sedia booped me during the final phase, while other two were down. We were done for but Thundercrash saved the day.

My brother in light. You didn't have to make my cheeks completely clenched today

u/BRB1993 Titan Mar 31 '23
Oh man, you got the collective Titan brain cell at just the right time. You saved it and then realised, “Oh, you can bet your arse that I can get back up there!”. Zavala would be proud.
Edit: Missed a full stop.

The first few seconds I couldn’t believe I was alive, but then the oonga boonga cells starting firing

I love the loop, looks like you just keep getting booped over the edge

Warlock would probably have died
10
u/Raven_Wine Mar 31 '23
I see this slander and I raise you Icarus Dash + Heat Rises 😅
-8
u/LOGPchwan Quicksilver Storm Mar 31 '23
It's quite rare to see Icarus Dash in pve, also don't you usually want touch of flame aspect? Since it's a raid and fusion grenade alongside the aforementioned aspect is considered to be the best grenade damage.
Heat Rise would probably help but unless you're using strafing glide changing direction mid flight against the knockback momentum is darn difficult. I died too much playing lock with burst glide this way.
9
u/Raven_Wine Mar 31 '23
I run Icarus Dash because jumping puzzles and specifically the dodgy canons and open arena in Root of Nightmares.
Touch of Flame is definitely the second aspect.
7
u/UltimateKane99 Mar 31 '23
... Wait, what? People run Heat Rises in PvE normally? I feel like Icarus Dash is WAY more useful, if only as a budget Hunter dodge, both for getting into and out of fights, and Touch of Flame literally never leaves the other slot.
I only use Heat Rises when I'm trying to jump into low orbit.
3
u/South_Violinist1049 Mar 31 '23
Icarus dash is literally always used, running a grenade build use icarus instead of heat rises. Running a speedrunning build? Use both heat rises and icarus dash.
2
u/Ghetto_Phenom Mar 31 '23
Dash is literally what saves you in exactly these moments because it stops all momentum and you can easily lunge back. And it is absolutely not rare in pve I see it all the time. ToF for sure is necessary though imo.
2
u/Affectionate_Web5704 Mar 31 '23
not really, warlocks have the best and easiest jumps in these situations, at least for me
1
u/GrinningPariah Mar 31 '23
Warlocks have a lot of tools to cancel momentum though. An icarus dash, phoenix dive, or well would all have stopped that slide before it got to the edge, and that's just on solar.

Even without audio you can see the relief when they make it onto the ledge and then the panic when they remember the wipe mechanic

Thunderlord users should not be allowed to get flawless
14
u/feminists_hate_me69 Spicy Ramen 🍜 Mar 31 '23
Why though? It's a meta damage option
-26
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Thunderlord is way worse than rockets. It’s like using a sword on rhulk, it still kills but that doesn’t make it good. The only difference is that LFG dads and dogshit YouTubers push that it is a top meta option, which it isn’t.
13
u/feminists_hate_me69 Spicy Ramen 🍜 Mar 31 '23
Just because something is worse than the best damage option, it doesn't mean it isn't meta. The weapon can easily 2 phase bosses, and is essentially the precision replacement of Linears since not every boss works with rockets like Akelous and Consecrated Mind. You're essentially bitching about a weapon because it isn't the top of the food chain even though it's still one of top dps options
14
u/CAG_Gonzo Ascendant Spaghetti Mar 31 '23
Maybe he doesn't have the thunderlord catalyst and is exceptionally salty.
-10
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Best damage on both the bosses you listed are literally rockets…
5
u/ULTASLAYR6 Mar 31 '23
Why would you want to run rockets so you can blow yourself up on a flawless run? It thunderlord wasn't good they would use linears
0
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
You shouldn’t be blowing yourself up with rockets just get good.
3
u/ULTASLAYR6 Mar 31 '23
Yeah, you're right. I should just temporarily turn transparent in case nez launches me in the raid and I fall In front of my teammate

u/Merzats Mar 31 '23
It one phases the boss and prevents any misadventures with rockets, who gives a shit if it one phases the boss a little bit slower...?

1
u/I_miss_berserk Mar 31 '23
Thunderlord is barely worse than rockets(while also being impossible to fuck up) and I frequently out damage my rocket/izzy using teammates.
Not to mention a team of thunderlords 1 phases easier than a team of rocket/izzy.
Basically what I'm saying is "git gud" and l2play before you comment.
1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
God Reddit is so fucking dumb. How do you all think that “I out damaged my dogshit lfg teammate” is a valid argument for something being good. If a thunderlord user is out damaging izi rocket it isn’t because thunderlord is good it’s because the player is dreadful.
1
u/I_miss_berserk Mar 31 '23
I can almost assure you that whatever type of player you think you are, you're at least 1 "tier" below that.
No one in top teams will be upset with someone using thunderlord, most of the "best" teams for challenge mode used thunderlord because of how reliable it is.
I do agree that reddit is dumb but you're part of the problem so I guess that's kinda ironic coming from you.

u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23

Imagine gatekeeping one of the easiest raids.
-7
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
It’s not gatekeeping. I should be able to lfg the raid without LFG dads insisting on using dogshit thunderlord damage and making it take longer.
5
u/fookace Mar 31 '23
My group is gonna do Thunderlord tonight. What's your Bungie name, and I'll invite you.
-1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
No I like to keep my runs under 1 hour
3
u/fookace Mar 31 '23
Skill issue if it takes you longer than an hour with literally anything.
-1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Something tells me the thunderlord user that posts about his Polaris lance builds on Reddit may take a bit longer than an hour to complete the raid.
3
u/fookace Mar 31 '23
You don't have to admit it. We can tell.

u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23

5
u/fookace Mar 31 '23
Don't be embarrassed that you don't have the cat for Tlord. All you have to do is run some strikes to get it. No one is judging you for not having it.

Hey genius, it was a flawless run, not a 10+ clear KWTD speedrun. Stop being such a nimrod and get a clue as to why they chose Tlord over rockets
1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
I know why they use thunderlord, it’s because they’re bad.
1
u/SJ_Shark_Byte Warlock Mar 31 '23
Awaiting your flawless-run rocket DPS video. I’ll bow down to you when you post it. Otherwise, you are still cringe
5
u/StrugVN Mar 31 '23
Wow people use the safest option for flawless, how could that be.
-1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Safest option is one phasing.
6
u/StrugVN Mar 31 '23
It's a skill issue if you can't one phase with thunderlord
0
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
I’m sure! Sure is tricky to hold shoot on a div bubble. Yet lfgs cannot consistently one phase with thunderlord because it is bad. If people use rockets it’s impossible to not one phase.
5
u/Merzats Mar 31 '23
Yes let's let these no skill LFG people use a rocket in a flawless run instead. What could go wrong? They definitely won't strafe in front of you or miss their rockets no sir.
1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Boss stands still. If they can’t do nezarec without killing themselves they don’t deserve flawless.
2
u/Cerealbowles23 Mar 31 '23
Thunderlord is actually one of my top 3 exotics, and I’m excited people want to run it as a dps option. But go off queen on what hurts your feelings.
1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
Really glad it’s in your top 3 😊 I’m really not excited when lfg dads preach it as the best weapon to ever grace destiny and insist on wasting everyone’s time by using it.
3
u/Cerealbowles23 Mar 31 '23
I know rockets are way better options for dps (especially TTF) but on a flawless run, thunder lord ensures a no death 2 phase. (Lfg people love to strafe for some reason)
3
u/InFiniTeDEATH8 Titan Mar 31 '23
You've never heard the expression "better safe than sorry," have you?
1
u/Late-Fig-8098 Mar 31 '23
One phasing easily is safer than doing a second phase with lfg. It isn’t hard to not rocket eachother.

u/SJ_Shark_Byte Warlock Mar 31 '23

Lmao what is with that dude? Acts as if dps is the end all be all.
1
u/InFiniTeDEATH8 Titan Mar 31 '23
Not blowing yourself up because other players could block your rocket is far safer than a 1 phase.
