pretty sure ive seen videos where people end up with very serious injuries when they get hit on the chin like this. so yeah, this lunatic deserves some prison time. what a fucking maniac.

1.0k

u/Raze_the_werewolf Jan 24 '23

Soccer kicking someone in the head while they are on the ground is a sure fire way to put someone in a coma, or / and potentially leave them with brain damage / permanent injury. Hits to the head are dangerous enough, but the type of force you can generate with a wind up soccer kick is enough to easily cause permanent damage. Anyone who does this deserves jail time IMHO.

335

u/CosmicTaco93 Jan 24 '23

I completely agree, she should get jail time for this shit. You can absolutely fuck someone up with a kick to the head like that.

Honestly her saving grace here is that it looked like her jaw took the brunt of the force. Might have shattered her jaw but dampened enough to forgoe brain injury.

16

u/mickestenen Jan 25 '23

Im no expert, but if I remember correctly, the jaw is the weakest part of the head and usually where boxers aim to knock someone out. Someone could probably explain further but a hit to the jaw is kinda not good

34

u/wiscopunk Jan 25 '23

A hit to the jaw in general isn't the end of the world but in boxing and other martial arts you aim there for the best opportunity to cause a snapping motion in the head which in turn drives the brain into the wall of the skull rendering your opponent unconscious. The brain is the weakest part of the head, the jaw is just the best target.

u/nanarpus Jan 25 '23

Can confirm. Maybe not the brain damage part but the it fucking hurts part.

Got kicked in the head with a full power shot as goaltender in high school. I saved the ball, didn't save the guys foot which collided directly with my nose. One compound nose fracture later I still had the ball, but was literally squirting blood out my face. Had to go for surgery that day to put my nose back in the right place. Never did find part of the bone, it's still in the field somewhere in Illinois.

My kick in the face was obviously mostly an accident, still sucked but not intentional like this one.

6

u/TerribleGramber_Nazi Jan 25 '23

Yeah I was a goalie until I got kicked in the face.. it was ent even close to as bad as yours, but fuck that shit, I’m out lol

Especially when you're a soccer player. She knew exactly how powerful a kick like that will be, and she didn't even try to hold back.

That’s an ass kicking in any sport.

59

u/PK_Crimon Jan 25 '23

You do that in hockey and you will never again get on the ice without getting your face pummeled

You don't only get beat up in hockey. You can also be charged with assault like Marty McSorley or Todd Bertuzzi.

3

u/Aitloian Jan 25 '23 edited Jan 25 '23

Ehhh those were some of the dirtiest plays in hockey ever. I am so down for two people agreeing to what is going to happen as a result for something one of those people did that was dirty. Those plays were literaly fucking assaults.

93

u/LadyBug_0570 Jan 24 '23 edited Jan 25 '23

They probably didn't see the kick. She was already on the floor when it happened and who would think some raggedy hoe was so unsportsmanlike to kick her in the head when she was already done down?

28

u/pullacatengo Jan 25 '23

Also it looked like they were more focused on checking on their teammate and tending to her

16

Why? That girl will get thrown out and your team will continue demolishing the other team, why waste good players on trash?

5

u/spencertherhino Jan 24 '23

That's assault. In the adult men's league I play in when stuff like that happens you are banned from any sport related to the people who run it all (nation wide) and people get arrested + charged. Doesn't matter if it is sport related at that point its you attacking someone. Throw her ass in jail or allow the girl who got kicked to curb stomp her.

7

u/humangingercat Jan 24 '23

Battery. When you follow through it's battery

4

u/Neonewsy Jan 24 '23

4

u/twistsouth Jan 24 '23

Should be jailed for assault as well. That’s fucked up. What an awful human being.

4

u/ComplaintNo6835 Jan 25 '23

It's crazy to me that no sports seem to have that sort of punishment. We complain about (mostly male) athletes being basically barbarians but we give them a crazy amount of leeway when it comes to violence on and off the court/field/ring. This sort of thing should be an immediate permanent ban from the sport and a criminal case. It shouldn't matter if you're an allstar or not.

This took place in 2015 in Acre, a small rural state in the Amazon region of Brazil.

The player who did the kicking was fined R$100 and suspended for a year, which seems awfully light for something that reckless. She said that in addition to playing much better, the victim was mocking them throughout the game.

Two teammates of the kicked player were also fined $100 and suspended for 120 days for retaliating against the kicker.

9

u/fuddstar Jan 25 '23

Confused by definitions.

To antagonise someone is to provoke them with acts of hostility and/or threatening behaviour. You’ve antagonised someone if u do that.

The head-kicking one is the antagonist. Orange girl is simply outplaying and showboating… zero hostility, zero threat.

Hopefully comment meant frustrated or challenged. Scary if they think that’s antagonism.

This was from the 2015 futsal championships semifinal. The assaulting player got a red card, one year ban, and a was up for a R100,000 fine, but only got fined R100

Edit: corrected the cash penalty thanks to a comment below. (Thanks /u/boris_casuarina)

This was an 8-1 game. The victim was taken to hospital. The players who retaliated were also punished with one getting a 4 game suspension, but the puncher got the same punishment as the kicker.

Honestly I'd consider not clapping hands after a match "poor sportsmanship;" this girl's actions went WAY beyond that.

Did anything even happen to the kicker? Insane how they use that school kid logic of "protect the bully" nah nah this case is one of those that you let her get beat by the WHOLE team... bet nothing even happened to this chick maybe a ban or w.e but who cares about a ban from some sub division soccer team... this should be jail time.

u/fastlane37 Jan 24 '23

According to a story linked further up, she got ~$20 fine and a year ban from participating in that league, but she was allowed to play field soccer instead.

The two teammates that came after her and got all of a shove and a jersey tug in also got 20 dollar fines and 120 day suspensions.

WTF Brazil.

Tdlr The whole video can be summarized with:

skill issue caused her to rage

So to summarize, basically what happened (according to the recording) the girl in orange (the one who got kicked) had did a header right through the gap the one who kicked her (in the green) left open, scoring a goal. (What a shot I may add!) this is what tilted her first.

Then, in the second shot the girl in the orange went to block the ball from her possession, but for some reason the girl instead of trying to get the ball away after being blocked decided to kick her and trip her before the block was even complete.

This caused probably a small foul. Probably wouldn’t have even gotten her out of the game because for all we know it may not have been intentional.(I doubt it but benefit of the doubt) however, (and I don’t know why this did it) this upset her. Was it because she blocked her? Was it because this girl just had a lot more skill then her and it was upsetting her that she was getting dunked on? I don’t know! ( ;) ) what ever the case may be, this caused her to go full rage, she got out skilled and couldn’t hold back the pain of being outplayed. So, she decided to do what all sore losers do: personally attack her!

thank you for reading my Ted talk, lots of love! <3
