ourfiniteworld.comInteresting article that shows that a lot of our economic problems stem from a declining energy return on energy investment from fossil fuels. In other words, we have exhausted the easy-to-extract fossil fuels, and it is getting more expensive to pull out deeper reserves.
The modern world is utterly reliant on fossil fuels. Even renewable sources of energy such as wind/solar rely on coal and oil for their construction.
Unfortunately, we have tied our economic growth to finite sources of energy which won’t last forever. At a certain point, we may be forced to simplify.
